Most people list travel as a priority once the post work phase begins. We have seen a preponderance of “slow travelers”, cruise, wine tours, train trips and “get a ways to the latest fad places, as people check off their “bucket list” items! I must admit that some of this is very appealing in a “cookie cutter” kind of way. However, I want to have a different kind of travel experience. One which is more self-reliant, challenging, inspiring, providing exposure to different cultures, customs and communities.
Travel offers an exhilarating way to explore the world. Here are some of the escapades I have planned for this forum: Walking Camino de Santiago, tracing ancient paths, rugged trails of the Alps, the Scottish Highlands, and the fjords of Norway. Adventurers in Australia including traversing the vast Outback, exploring Uluru, the Great Ocean Road, and the remote beauty of Tasmania. Driving coast to coast in the USA, from the bustling cities of the East Coast to the sun-soaked beaches of the West and all that’s in between. These are the escapades that appeal to me!
